We're looking for dynamic, solutions-focused individuals to join our high-performing teams as Assistant Base Managers and Estate Management & Planning Managers. As leaders in this space, you'll play a critical role in shaping how we manage and operate Defence sites across Australia, leading teams, managing complex issues, and delivering outcomes that directly enable Defence capability.
Our teams are essential in keeping Defence sites safe, secure, and effective. These roles provide vital on-the-ground support to ensure smooth Defence base operations and readiness to respond when things don't go as planned. We support Defence exercises and operations, facilitating access to training areas and ensuring essential services are in place for deployed personnel. Our teams also respond to critical incidents and high-risk weather events, maintaining site safety, security, and resilience.
Whether preparing for bushfire season, responding to floods, or supporting emergency exercises, our personnel are key in managing risks and protecting Defence capability. You'll manage relationships with Defence personnel, contractors, and other government agencies to ensure the delivery of essential services, maintenance of infrastructure, and planning for future needs. This work is fast-paced, people-focused, and impactful.
Key Responsibilities Provide leadership and coordination across Defence bases. Develop and lead high-performing teams ensuring safe and secure daily operations. Manage critical incidents, support Defence activities and exercises, and liaise with stakeholders including Defence personnel, service providers, contractors, and local communities. Assist in problem-solving, act as trusted advisors, and manage personnel to ensure site safety, security, and operational readiness. Offer strategic oversight in estate planning, infrastructure development, risk management, and project support to shape long-term investment and development. Ideal Candidate Profile We seek leaders who are adaptable, solutions-oriented, and calm under pressure. You should be proactive in risk and safety management, comfortable operationally, and ready to respond to incidents or issues. The ability to influence safety culture, achieve organizational goals, and foster a high-performance service culture is essential. Key skills include:
