About the Role
The Head of Production plays a pivotal part in ensuring the seamless operation of food production and warehouse inventory management. This senior leadership role oversees teams responsible for kitchen production, inventory management, and on-site warehouses.
Key responsibilities include:
* Safeguarding site safety and adherence to HACCP standards.
* Leading and supporting high-performing teams aligned with the organisation's values.
* Driving operational excellence across production, inventory, and staffing.
* Delivering timely and accurate reporting on key operational metrics.
* Identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and quality.
* Collaborating with the Executive Chef and Food Inventory Coordinator to optimise meal production and inventory management.
* Fostering strong relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders.
* Representing the organisation at executive, board, and media engagements.
* Championing employee development through coaching, training, and performance management.
* Ensuring effective use of People & Culture processes across recruitment, onboarding, and compliance.
* Supporting integration of inventory and production planning through cross-functional collaboration.
A successful candidate will possess:
* Qualifications in business management, food production, or similar.
* Extensive experience in the food industry, especially production/kitchen and inventory management.
* Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
* Proven ability to build relationships across food industry levels.
* Experience with Integrated Business Planning (IBP) processes.
* Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities.
* Trusted leader who leads by example.
* Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills.
* Confident representing the organisation externally.
* Self-motivated with a track record of achieving goals.
* Skilled in influencing and driving successful outcomes.
* Effective at prioritising and resolving issues promptly.
