About the Role
We are seeking 7 skilled .Net Software Engineers to join the department's technology delivery teams. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and enhancing enterprise-level C# applications, building automated deployment pipelines, and supporting the delivery of major transformation programs. You will play a key role in modernising systems, ensuring they are secure, scalable, and aligned with national readiness requirements.

Ideal candidates from either Canberra or Brisbane.
Role and Responsibilities
* Participate in the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) to develop and enhance enterprise-level, n-tier C# applications in line with departmental standards.
* Design, implement, and maintain automated build and deployment scripts using .NET Core and the Microsoft technology stack.
* Contribute to Agile development processes using tools such as Azure DevOps.
* Develop well-structured, documented, and testable code, conducting peer reviews to ensure quality.
* Work with technical and business teams to identify and resolve production issues rapidly.
* Provide analysis, advice, and guidance on complex technical issues to inform project outcomes.
* Engage with stakeholders across a geographically dispersed network to ensure alignment and effective delivery.
* Support program activities as part of the department's readiness framework.
* Contribute to initiatives under the Indigo Program, including system modernisation, business process re-engineering, and cloud adoption.
Essential Criteria
* Demonstrated experience with Agile methodologies, SDLC, and technical documentation.
* Strong backend development experience using C#, .NET Core, Web API, and SQL.
* Experience with automated build and deployment processes in the Microsoft stack.
* Familiarity with cloud-based application development.
* Proficiency in Visual Studio, Azure DevOps, and related tools.
* Ability to deliver well-designed, documented, and testable code with peer review experience.
* Strong communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders across dispersed teams.
* Proven analytical skills with the ability to prioritise, problem-solve, and contribute to business improvement.
* Experience leading or mentoring team members to build capability and promote professionalism.
* Proficiency with IT applications and project management tools, including MS Suite, Azure DevOps, and Miro.
Desirable Criteria
* Tertiary qualifications or certifications in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related disciplines.
* Knowledge of, or ability to gain, an understanding of relevant legislation and practice.
* Experience with cloud-based technologies, particularly Microsoft Azure.
* Exposure to technical analysis, solution design, and integration implementations.
* Baseline/NV1 security clearance
