We are looking for a proactive and motivated person to join the Fresh Blood Products and Services team. The team (on behalf of all Australian Governments) manages the contract with the Australian Red Cross Lifeblood (Lifeblood) to collect, process and supply fresh blood products and services. This is essential to saving and improving lives across Australia every day. As a Project Officer you will work in a very small team to review and advise on operational policy in relation to fresh blood products and services for Australia. With the support of the Assistant Director, you will work closely with internal stakeholders, state and territory governments, other Commonwealth agencies, and Lifeblood in relation to fresh blood products and services. You will also help manage corporate reporting on behalf of the broader team. In this role you will support and deliver a broad range of projects that relate to fresh blood supply. This includes, but is not limited to, developing project management artefacts, reviewing and analysing data, technical and scientific material, assessing new projects and policy proposals and researching and advising on legislation and research pieces as they relate to the fresh blood supply. You will have strong organisational skills and be able to undertake work autonomously. You will also have strong communication, research and analysis skills. You will be able to build effective relationships, contribute to team culture and structure, plan and support projects. Experience in a health policy or operational setting and project management are highly desirable. The key duties of the position include Although not exhaustive, this to role will require you to: Assist in managing and delivering a range of projects that relate to the supply of fresh blood products and services, in accordance with the objectives of the National Blood Agreement and other government policies and legislation. Provide advice on the impacts of broader policy matters on fresh blood supply in Australia, including analysing technical and academic information, and engaging with subject matter experts. Assist with the coordination and input into regular reporting, including the Annual Report, Senates Estimates briefs and other reports. Develop and maintain project management artefacts to ensure good governance and to track project timeframes, delivery and outcomes. Prepare and review high-quality documents appropriate for a wide range of audiences and within agreed timeframes, including papers, briefs, minutes, presentations and correspondence of varying complexity. Develop and maintain good relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Contribute to NBA's organisational strategy and culture. Work in a collaborative manner as a member of a team and across the NBA. In the short term, assist in the project management and delivery of a significant new contract, in addition to the duties above
