MacKillop Catholic College is seeking an experienced and dedicated School Business Manager to join our dynamic leadership team for an immediate start. This full-time executive position is based in Palmerston, NT and plays a critical role in supporting the strategic, operational and financial management of the College.
Working closely with the Principal and as a member of the College Executive Leadership Team, the Business Manager oversees the delivery of key corporate services including finance, human resources, administration, facilities, compliance, procurement and operational planning. The role ensures the College maintains strong financial sustainability while supporting the delivery of high-quality education.
What you'll be doing
Working under the direction of the Principal you will:
Provide strategic and operational leadership across the College's business and corporate service functions
Oversee financial management including budgeting, financial planning, reporting and long-term sustainability strategies
Lead and support key operational areas including finance, human resources, administration, facilities, ICT, procurement and compliance
Work closely with the Finance Manager to monitor budget performance, manage financial delegations and oversee funding applications and grants
Support the Human Resources Officer with recruitment, payroll oversight, HR administration and industrial relations matters
Provide governance and compliance oversight including risk management, workplace health and safety and legislative compliance
Manage supplier relationships, procurement processes and contract management across the College
Support the Infrastructure Manager in overseeing facilities and grounds management
Assist with strategic planning and implementation of the College's business plans and long-term operational strategies
Liaise with Heads of Departments, Catholic Education Northern Territory and other stakeholders to ensure effective delivery of corporate services
Provide operational support to the Principal and Executive Leadership Team and assist with governance reporting to the Advisory School Board
What we're looking for
CPA or CA qualifications, or equivalent tertiary qualifications in accounting, finance or business
Demonstrated experience in financial planning, budgeting and financial reporting
Minimum 5 years' experience in a Business Manager role or equivalent senior corporate services leadership role
Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage diverse operational areas and support staff across multiple teams
Experience in human resources management including payroll oversight, recruitment processes and industrial relations
Excellent organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with staff, parents and stakeholders
High attention to detail with the ability to manage confidential and sensitive information
Experience contributing to strategic planning and organisational improvement
Experience working in a school environment will be highly regarded
