About the Role
Peace is seeking a compassionate and professional Nurse to join our team. This role requires strong expertise in first aid, patient care, and knowledge of current health practices. You will assist in providing care and support to our community; liaise with staff, students, Medical and Allied Health Professionals; and have a strong understanding of current health issues and treatments. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills, sensitivity, and professionalism, contributing to a positive culture of health and wellbeing across the College.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide first aid and emergency care to unwell students.
* Assist with referring students to appropriate health services, coordinate with external medical providers, manage medication collection, and arrange appointments.
* Communicate effectively with students, parents, teachers, and support staff, offering guidance with discretion and empathy to support informed decision-making and student safety.
* Adhere to and provide expert advice on the College's health-related policies and procedures
About You
* Registered Nurse with current APHRA registration.
* Previous experience as a School or Paediatric Nurse is preferred.
* Experience working with First Nations or culturally and linguistically diverse patients is highly regarded.
* Superior communications skills, demonstrating discernment, sensitivity and discretion.
* Ability to work well under pressure and respond to acute or urgent events.
* Administrative skills including experience with patient management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
