Health and Safety Leadership Role
Job Description
* Develop, implement and continuously improve workplace health and safety systems and policies.
* Lead safety training, audits, risk assessments and incident investigations.
* Foster a culture of safety awareness, engagement and accountability at all levels.
* Ensure compliance with Australian WHS legislation and industry best practices.
* Partner with operational leaders to proactively identify and mitigate risks.
* Coach and influence leaders to enhance our safety systems, practices and decision-making.
* Manage Workers' Compensation function (self-insured) to achieve successful outcomes.
* Drive operational and strategic elements of the safety role.
* Analysis and reporting of health and safety performance.
* Act as subject matter expert for ICAMs, Codes of Practice, Audits, etc.
Our ideal candidate will have:
* Proven experience in a senior Health and Safety role within a heavy industry or manufacturing environment.
* Deep knowledge of Australian WHS laws and ISO safety standards.
* Strong leadership and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Ability to analyse data and drive evidence-based safety improvements.
* Excellent communication skills, with empathy and sound relationship skills.
* Diploma or Degree in Work Health and Safety (or related field).
* Capable and professional presenter.
* Tech-savvy and systems-driven person experienced in managing WHS software.
