This regional role involves overseeing Data Quality, Data Catalog, Master Data Management, Data Visualization, and UI Development initiatives across multiple countries. The role includes enhancement of data foundation capabilities with Machine Learning and Generative AI. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing and promoting Data Governance standards, driving automation, fostering data literacy, introducing new technologies and managing a team of contractors. Although there are no direct reports initially, the role is at a managerial level with potential to oversee direct reports in the future. The role includes hands-on work. Key Responsibilities: Lead the implementation of Data Quality monitoring systems, leveraging AI and Machine Learning techniques when applicable. Define, develop, and enforce Data Governance policies and standards to ensure data integrity, security, and compliance. Enrich and maintain the Data Catalog to facilitate data discovery and enhance understanding of our data assets. Introduce Generative AI techniques to improve Data Catalog’s content. Drive organizational data literacy initiatives and foster a data-driven culture across the APAC region. Oversee and coordinate dashboards and analytical platforms. Drive improvement of Data Governance tools, Data Analytics platform, enhance, and maintain front-end User Interfaces and Back-end systems. Manage multiple contractors and influence IT DevOps teams to support platforms maintenance, upgrades and evolution. Engage effectively with remote stakeholders across different countries, ensuring clear communication, requirements gathering, and solution alignment despite geographic dispersion. Provide strategic guidance, mentorship, and coordination between teams. Required Skills & Qualifications: Proven experience in Data Management, Data Governance, Data Quality, Data Catalog, Data Literacy programs or related fields. Strong skills in Spark SQL and Regular Expressions (Regex) for Data Quality validation. Good understanding of Databases, ETL processes, DevOps practices, and AWS Cloud infrastructure including Cloud Databases. Knowledge of AI and Machine Learning concepts, particularly in the context of data quality and catalog enrichment (experience with GenAI preferred but not required). Excellent remote communication skills. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple contractors and collaborate effectively with remote stakeholders across different countries. Language: Fluency in English; second language skills in Korean, Japanese, or Chinese are advantageous but not mandatory. Location: Japan, Korea, Australia Preferred Qualifications: Experience in healthcare, pharmaceutical, or regulated industries.
