Job Overview
The Leading Hand Carpenter is responsible for overseeing a small crew, ensuring that work is delivered safely, on time, and to a high standard.
This involves coordinating and guiding the team across various Switchroom projects for industries including mining, renewables, water treatment, and aviation.
Key Responsibilities
* Supervise and motivate carpenters and trade assistants
* Allocate tasks and monitor progress
* Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and 5S housekeeping standards
* Coordinate with other trades such as Electricians and Boilermakers
* Perform quality checks and provide on-the-job training
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* A Carpentry Trade Certificate III
* At least 3 years of experience in construction, with at least 2 years in a leading hand or supervisory role
* Strong leadership and team coordination skills
* Ability to interpret drawings and meet deadlines
* A current Driver Licence and personal hand tools
