Role Overview:
The Cloud Automation Specialist will be responsible for the delivery of a scalable and secure cloud automation to support the department's resiliency goals and objectives for PROTECTED capabilities. The candidate must work with the department's customers to design cost effective, secure and resilient cloud-based PROTECTED solutions.
Responsibilities
* Drive and lead the selection and integration of automation tools, ensuring alignment of business and technical requirements.
* Design, implement and optimise automation workflows to streamline operational processes and increase efficiency.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement automation solutions that improve productivity and reduce manual effort.
* Provide technical expertise and guidance on automation strategies, tools and best practices to team members and stakeholders.
* Monitor and troubleshoot automation systems to ensure smooth operations and rapid incident resolution.
* Drive automation initiatives that align with industry and emerging technologies for innovation and service improvement.
* Design and implement policy to meet corporate and technology boundaries.
* Identify and advise Design Authority on technical risks and mitigations.
Technical Skills
* Experience in Bicep/ARM with Azure DevOps (version control, pipelines, work items).
* Strong leadership experience and skills.
* Extensive experience in design, deployment configuration & optimisation of Azure Cloud Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS).
* Strong expertise in Azure DevOps tools, methodologies, best practices & technologies (Azure Bicep/ARM, version control, pipelines & work items).
* Proficient in PowerShell scripting to automate tasks, manage users and configure Azure services.
* Proactive approach to identifying & troubleshooting issues. Advanced problem-solving skills.
Due to the nature of this role, this job is open to Australian Citizens only, with NV1 clearance.
This is a long-term contract opportunity.
