The Role
This in a part time position based at Tighes Hill, Newcastle. The Payroll Officer will be responsible for the timely and accurate processing of the weekly payroll for 90 wages and salary employees. Main duties include:
Administer, configure and support Employment Hero system workflows, user access, data integrity and compliance
Reviewing rosters, timesheets and leave applications ensuring hours worked are correctly recorded and rates of pay, penalties, allowances are correct and approved by managers.
Preparing and processing end to end payroll on a weekly basis ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, taxation and accounting practices.
Ensure the integrity of payroll data including accruals for all leave types, Award and legislative updates PAYG, superannuation.
Proceed end of pay run journals as well as routine reports for management and finance team.
Assist with applying Employment Hero system updates and troubleshooting system issues.
Respond to payroll queries from staff and assist managers with improvement initiatives.
Support system integrations with Business Central and other HRIS or Finance platforms.
Maintaining a high level of confidentiality.
Requirements
Experience with Employment Hero payroll and HR platforms and Australian Payroll legislation.
Confident with systems administration, data accuracy and process improvement.
Strong knowledge of Building and Construction General On-site Award 2020.
Able to self-manage time and balance priorities including following up on tasks and queries.
Exceptional attention to detail and cheerful attitude towards resolving problems.
Excellent spreadsheeting skills and capacity to analyse data and run pivot tables and reports
