We are seeking an experienced engineering leader to drive the design, development and delivery of advanced control systems for battery energy storage system projects. This role offers the opportunity to take full ownership of projects from concept through commissioning, ensuring safe, secure and compliant operation of cutting-edge energy storage solutions.
The successful candidate will bring deep expertise in integrated systems design, controls and cyber security, combined with proven leadership in guiding cross-functional teams. Responsibilities:
* Lead the design and development of integrated control systems for battery energy storage projects
* Take ownership from concept through implementation, testing and commissioning including system architecture, control strategies, safety systems, hardware, software, network components and cyber security
* Document systems design and development processes, including creating technical documentation, quality artifacts and user manuals
* Develop and execute test plans throughout the project lifecycle and perform system-level testing to validate control system performance, safety and security to customer, industry and regulatory requirements
* Lead technical reviews and provide guidance to project teams on design decisions
* Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advances in battery energy storage technology
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree or higher in electrical or ICT engineering or related field
* Outstanding technical expertise in SCADA (mandatory), with additional proficiency in integrated systems design, controls, cybersecurity and safety systems (preferred)
* Demonstrated leadership within their area of expertise (without direct people management), with a proven ability to thrive in diverse, cross-functional teams
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Ideally you will have understanding of regulatory requirements and industry standards for battery energy storage systems (e.g. UL 9540, IEEE 1547)
* Willing and able to complete all necessary background verification checks
