Tec-NQ is a growing organisation recruiting for an Electrical Trainer on a permanent, full-time basis located in Townsville, QLD. ABOUT THE ROLE The role of an Electrical Trainer is focused on providing quality trade training through the facilitation of vocational and education training to apprentices. A day in the life of an Electrical Trainer at Tec-NQ would look like: Teaching apprentices the Electrical Trade as per the Delivery Schedule. Facilitating the retention of training and employment partnerships with local employers through quality training of apprentices. Taking a mentorship role in promoting the education of apprentices through the delivery of engaging and relevant learning programs. Participation in team meetings to support student progress. Providing input into continuous improvement initiatives. Undertaking industry visits. Attending Industry Forums. Tracking and marking assessments to ensure learner progression. Ensuring Work Health and Safety systems are maintained and adhered to. SELECTION CRITERIA The ideal applicant will be passionate about providing trade training in our community. This candidate will also meet the following selection criteria: Applicants without a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment are not discouraged from applying. Essential Possession of a trade qualification in Electrical with a minimum of five years post trade work experience in the Electrical Industry; Well developed verbal and written communication skills; Ability to use information technology in various formats and combinations to enrich and extend the learning opportunities of the students; Current C-Class Australian Drivers Licence; and Queensland ‘Blue Card’ to work with children or eligibility to attain. Desirable Current possession of a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122, TAE40116 or TAE40110 with the required units). The Cert IV in Training and Assessment is a requirement of the role, but we can support the completion of this qualification if the successful applicant does not possession this qualification. Demonstrated experience in the development, delivery and assessment of Certificate III in Electrical with the ability to adopt a multi-disciplinary approach to teaching and learning.
