Canberra
Hays
Designer

Offer description

Hays is working EXCLUSIVELY with this key Federal Government Department to fill a backfill contract.

**Your new company**

You will have the opportunity to work for a Government Department whose work has a direct impact on the Australian local community, to ensure longevity and success in a global landscape. Further to this, you will be joining a programme of work which is securely funded and about to move into phase two-the groundwork has been laid, the strategy has been defined, and results are already looking promising.

**Your new role**

You will have the opportunity to join a highly regarded team, who during the first phase of this programme won awards recognising their digital work. Starting from ground the up, this team has worked towards maintaining industry best practice for their Content Design.
You will join a team with the ultimate goal of maintaining the existing work by moving from team to team, liaising with specific stakeholders and addressing their needs before moving on to your next task and area. This doesn't mean you won't be able to make a significant contribution, there is still more work to be done - meaning you have a real opportunity to contribute to meaningful work and have influence.

Specifically, you will be responsible for creating, updating and reviewing content which is specific to the user journey across the various stages of development for the programme. You will have to regularly simplify the content for the user audience, ensuring to make it engaging and clear both in market/industry context and external to that context.

**What you'll need to succeed**
- Experience working within a multidisciplinary team, creating content that is easy for users to understand, at the time that they need it.
- Be confident to create appropriate content formats, dependent on their specific needs(e.g. a content page, tool or calculator) based on research and prototypes.
- Keen eye for detail across multiple platforms and content types-website, internals transaction, advertising, and/or print. Seeking to content is consistent, concise and necessary.
- Demonstrated experience collaborating closely with the user researcher, service designer, developer and others to embed content into the right point in the user journey.
- Develop content (vignettes etc.) for communication/discussion pieces at various levels (fortnightly showcases, SES presentations etc.)

**What you'll get in return**

You will get a contract until end of FY, with an available 12-month extension ready to be approved. Whilst this extension still needs to be approved, this approval is pending your performance and output as this position as SES approval! We will also get flexible WFH options, with some office time required. And the opportunity to have a genuine impact with a great team and a critical programme!

**What you need to do now**

If this job isn't quite right for you, but you are looking for a new position, please contact us for a confidential discussion on your career.
