Senior Commercial Manager - Infrastructure and Assets
UGL is seeking a Senior Commercial Manager for Infrastructure and Assets. This role provides commercial, financial, and contractual expertise to the Transport Infrastructure and Assets LOB to ensure that projects are commercially successful and that governance, systems and processes ensure compliance.
Responsibilities
* Lead and advise on the formulation and execution of commercial strategies to maximise profitability of Transport projects.
* Negotiate and settle upstream and downstream commercial positions to safeguard UGL's interests.
* Develop and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders and maintain clear communication between the Group Commercial team and the Transport sector.
* Provide regular briefings, analysis and summaries of complex legal, technical, and commercial bid and contract issues for non-specialist audiences and executives; contribute to Transport Bid Strategies.
* Coordinate and review legal positions and compliance matters with the UGL legal team (and external advisors where appropriate).
* Negotiate and finalise head contract terms and project risk parameters; prepare and present business cases for senior executives to accept risk where appropriate.
* Establish contract commercial teams and ensure contractual rights and obligations are communicated to the project delivery team.
* Lead and mentor Contract Administrators and Commercial Analysts; prepare and review head contracts and lead contractual negotiations with clients.
* Ensure insurance obligations can be met for head contracts by coordinating with insurance representatives.
* Participate in effective commercial handover between tendering and project delivery.
Qualifications
* Degree qualified in Engineering, Law or Construction Management is preferred but not essential.
* Ability to achieve outcomes in an environment with complex stakeholder relationships, including key business partners.
* Sound knowledge of project management principles.
* Sound knowledge of contracts and legal principles.
* Ability to read and comprehend project reports; high level of integrity and interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations.
