LET'S EXPLORE THE JOB
At Lake Macquarie City Council, we believe strong communities are built through connection, inclusion and opportunity.
As a Community Development Officer, you'll work alongside our Social Wellbeing Planners to understand the needs of our community and help design and deliver programs, partnerships and initiatives that make a real difference in people's lives.
This is a role where relationships matter. You will work with local organisations, community groups, service providers and residents to strengthen connection, build capacity, and support initiatives that respond to local needs.

Your key focus areas are:
* Working with communities to understand needs and support local solutions
* Designing and delivering community programs and initiatives
* Building strong partnerships with local services, organisations and stakeholders

You're passionate about people and communities, and you're motivated by creating real, meaningful impact.
You're someone who can walk into a room, build trust quickly, and bring people together around a shared goal. You understand community development work, or you're ready to step into it, and you're comfortable working across diverse groups, perspectives and needs.
You're proactive, thoughtful, and collaborative, and you're driven by improving outcomes for the community, not just ticking boxes.
Most importantly, you believe in strengthening communities from the ground up, supporting connection, inclusion and opportunity.
Specifically, you will bring:

* Experience delivering community development programs or projects
