Senior Mechanical Engineer
About the Role
We are seeking two experienced Senior Mechanical Engineers to join our team. The successful candidates will be responsible for preparing engineering specifications, reports, calculations, layouts, production drawings and cost estimates.
Key Responsibilities:
* Review suppliers' designs to ensure they meet specification requirements.
* Liaise with production engineers and manufacturing personnel to ensure designs are manufacturable.
* Optimise designs to minimise overall costs and assess product cost in relation to project budgets during the design process.
* Diagnose and correct failures and design deficiencies in existing rolling stock.
* Provide technical direction to product service and support personnel.
Requirements
A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or Mechatronic Engineering, as well as rail experience with a focus on freight – locomotives and wagons. Highly developed oral and written communication skills, including the ability to conduct detailed investigations and provide clear and decisive results and written reports.
