The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) is a critical participant in the administration of justice within Western Australia, providing an independent and effective criminal prosecution service and confiscation practice.
As part of our commitment to maintaining a safe and health work environment for all our employees, we are looking for an experienced and committed Work Health and Safety (WHS) professional with an interest in creating innovative contemporary wellness initiatives for a dynamic and challenging environment.
You will work with and support the employees and people leaders of the ODPP in all things WHS, drive the ongoing implementation of the WHS strategy and ensure our ongoing alignment and compliance with the Work Health and Safety Act 2020 and regulations.
Working closely with the Director People and Culture and Manager Recruitment and Establishment, some key deliverables for the role include:
- Lead the development and implementation of an innovative, evidence based WHS & Wellness strategy for the ODPP.
- Coordinate the development, implementation and monitoring of injury management programs to assist injured employees with their transition back into the workforce, this will include all workers compensation claims.
- Establish and implement policies, procedures and practices to identify, manage and control/mitigate the risk of WHS to employees and support the wellbeing of staff.
- Provide expertise and advice to the ODPP in the application of WHS by facilitating training and education sessions for managers and employees.
Your proven knowledge and experience in delivering on WHS initiatives will be well regarded as will your energy and commitment to building a strong work health and safety culture.
Your ability to build effective and meaningful relationships with managers and staff and provide specialist advice and support whilst ensuring our WHS compliance will be essential.
Suitable applicants from this process may be considered for other similar roles in the 12 months following the finalisation of this process subject to business needs.
