About the Role An exciting full-time contract opportunity is available for an experienced Senior Social Worker (Level to join the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) Hunter Valley team. This contract runs from June 2026 to 14 February 2027. Based at the High Street campus in Maitland, you will work with young people (0–17 years) and their families/carers experiencing complex and severe mental health challenges, delivering specialist assessment and treatment within a recovery-focused model of care.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver advanced clinical social work interventions for complex child and adolescent mental health presentations
* Provide clinical leadership through consultation, joint work, education, and governance activities
* Support multidisciplinary decision-making, including risk reviews and care planning
* Contribute to service improvement and broader CAMHS/Allied Health governance
* Mentor and support Social Work staff across the CAMHS network
* Travel across the Hunter Valley and LHD for clinical and consultative work as required

About You
* You are an experienced and motivated Senior Social Worker who:
* Demonstrates expertise in therapeutic work with complex presentations
* Balances clinical, leadership, and mentoring responsibilities
* Is adaptable and able to manage competing priorities
* Contributes to service development and improved consumer outcomes
* Works within ethical, professional, and evidence-based frameworks
* Values collaboration, teamwork, and psychological safety

Team, Support & Development You will be part of a dynamic, multidisciplinary team that values collaboration, shared decision-making, and clinician growth. The CAMHS model supports joint clinical work to strengthen outcomes and ongoing development. You will receive strong support from team leadership, regular clinical supervision (including access to external model-specific supervision), and opportunities for professional and leadership development. Ongoing learning is supported through performance reviews, accountability meetings, and engagement with the broader CAMHS and Allied Health networks.
