Our client is a leading manufacturer and distributor of chicken and small goods throughout Australia. This organisation delivers award-winning brands with significant recognition among customers and consumers in many market segments and is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Coordinator to join their Melbourne based team.
This is a full time, permanent position and is available for a January 2026 start (will wait for notice periods as required).
Position Overview:-
Based in Melbourne (with occasional travel to Brisbane), you will ensure all 3PL operations involving our products meet the highest standards of quality, compliance, and food safety. You will sharpen our QMS, drive corrective actions, support customer investigations, and ensure site readiness for external audits. This is a pivotal role for a meticulous professional ready to champion "right-first-time" behaviours.
Your main responsibilities and duties will include:-
* Monitor product specs in real-time, ensuring label accuracy and date-coding compliance
* Verify thaw-back processes and chill chain integrity
* Oversee 3PL QC checks and track actions arising from issues or audits
* Ensure current Quality Assurance Specifications (QAS) are displayed and followed
* Confirm daily despatch of orders and coordinate remediation for exceptions
* Conduct internal audits and support external/retailer audits (BRCGS, Coles, ALDI, YUM etc.)
* Analyse complaints and KPIs to identify trends and implement data-driven improvements
* Train and coach 3PL Supervisors and Line Leaders on QAS and SOPs
* Prepare clear, timely responses to customer investigations and corrective actions
Your experience, skill set and qualifications will include:-
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Proven QA experience, ideally in logistics/supply chain or food manufacturing
* Strong knowledge of QMS, regulatory requirements, and major retailer standards
* Internal audit certification is essential
* Bachelor's degree in Food Science/Technology or Quality Management (preferred)
* HACCP/TACCP/VACCP training is viewed favourably (training can be provided)
* Meticulous attention to detail with a strong compliance mindset
* Excellent analytical skills to interpret data and spot trends
