The Caloundra Chamber of Commerce is a not-for-profit organisation supporting the Greater Caloundra business community. We exist to strengthen the local economy, build connection and deliver place-based activations that make Caloundra a thriving destination to live, work and visit.
We are seeking an experienced Commercial Manager – Markets, Membership & Partnerships to lead the commercial performance of our flagship markets, grow and engage our membership base, and secure strong sponsorship and partnership outcomes.
This is a hands-on, results-driven role for someone who thrives in operational delivery, relationship building and commercial growth.
About the Role
Reporting to the General Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day commercial and operational performance of the Chamber's key revenue platforms, including:
Caloundra Markets (up to five markets)
Membership and Events
Partnerships and Sponsorships
You will lead a Market Coordinator and casual delivery staff, work closely with vendors, members and partners, and ensure our markets and events are professionally run, financially sustainable and continuously improving.
Key Responsibilities
Markets & Operations
Lead end-to-end market operations, compliance, staffing and delivery
Drive vendor recruitment, retention and satisfaction
Optimise occupancy, revenue and foot traffic
Ensure strong risk management, permits and reporting
Deliver high-quality, vibrant market experiences aligned to curation strategy
Vendor & Stakeholder Relationships
Build a loyal, high-performing vendor community
Manage expectations, feedback and issue resolution professionally
Maintain a strong pipeline of new vendors
Membership & Events
Drive membership growth, engagement and renewals
Support the delivery of high-quality Chamber events
Increase attendance, participation and member pride
Use CRM systems to track engagement and performance
Partnerships & Sponsorship
Identify and secure new sponsors and partners
Build compelling sponsorship packages and value propositions
Retain and grow long-term commercial partnerships
Ensure sponsor activation adds value for members and events
Reporting & Collaboration
Provide regular performance, financial and risk reporting
Supply accurate operational information to the marketing team
Work collaboratively with the General Manager and broader Chamber stakeholders
What We're Looking For
You are commercially minded, operationally strong and highly relational. You will bring:
Experience in markets, events, retail, hospitality or place-based commerce
Proven success growing audiences, vendors, memberships or revenue
Strong sponsorship and partnership experience
Financial literacy and operational discipline
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
A calm, professional approach to managing standards and expectations
A proactive, self-starting mindset suited to a community-focused not-for-profit
