About the Role
Reporting to the Ponds Supervisor, as Operation Technician you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of machinery and equipment to maintain SO4's pond infrastructure.
This hands‐on position is critical to supporting daily operations, including pump installation and maintenance, pipeline management, inspections, troubleshooting, and accurate reporting all while upholding SO4's strong safety culture.
Key responsibilities include:
* Safely install, remove, and repair pumps and pipe infrastructure.
* Conduct daily inspections of pumps, pipes, and roadways.
* Perform scheduled and unplanned operational activities in line with work management plans.
* Troubleshoot faults and defects in equipment and elevate where required.
* Operate hand tools, power tools, and mobile equipment safely and efficiently.
* Maintain accurate operational records and complete all required checklists and documentation.
* Actively promote and participate in safety initiatives, toolbox meetings, and hazard reporting.
* Support continuous improvement initiatives across the operations department.
About You
You're a self‐motivated operator with a high level of integrity, professionalism, and a strong commitment to safety and operational excellence. You enjoy hands‐on work, thrive in a team environment, and take pride in maintaining high standards.
To be successful you will have:
* Current \"HR\" Class Western Australian driver's license.
* Obtainment of Loader, IT Loader, Grader, Telehandler, Excavator, Franna and Dogman Tickets.
* Ability to competently operate Wirtgen W210 Profiler or equivalent.
* Experience in pond or brine operations (highly regarded).
* Strong problem‐solving skills and attention to detail.
* A proactive, can‐do attitude and willingness to step up when required.
