About the Role

In this role you will plan and organise events to ensure all administrative and logistical requirements are met on time, delivering a high‑quality experience for both Councillors and the public. You will coordinate event materials and equipment before, during and after each event, while providing on‑the‑day support as needed.

Permanent, full‑time.


Classification

Band 6 Commencing at $95,760 + super.


Key Responsibilities

* Lead the planning, coordination and delivery of Citizenship Ceremonies and civic events.
* Identify and develop strategic civic and ceremonial events in collaboration with stakeholders, including preparing business cases where needed.
* Manage Councillor event logistics to a high standard, delivering exceptional customer service, attention to detail and positive stakeholder experiences.
* Action Councillor requests triaged through the Council and Executive Services team in accordance with role responsibilities.
* Monitor and report on work progress against plans and budgets to ensure timely delivery and compliance with regulations and policies.


About You

To be successful in this role, you will have a tertiary qualification in Event Management or a related discipline, or equivalent experience in a similar role.


Essential Experience

* Demonstrated ability to support, influence and collaborate effectively with a range of stakeholders.
* Strong problem‑solving and stakeholder management skills to achieve outcomes with diverse groups.
* Well‑developed written and verbal communication skills to engage stakeholders and gain support for initiatives.
* Excellent planning and time‑management skills to deliver tasks efficiently.
* Ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures accurately.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, with advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint.
* Current, valid driving licence.
* Experience in Local Government (desirable but not imperative).


Background Checks

Preferred candidates will be required to undergo a National Police Check and a Working with Children's Check as part of the recruitment process (funded by the City).
