About The OPPORTUNITY
We have a great opportunity for a Systems Support (SS) Business Operations Manager to join our Hunter Class Frigate Program (HCFP). Reporting to our Support and Sustainment Program Manager (SSPM), this role is responsible for the day-to-day development and support of HCFP SS Program Operations.
This role can be based at either our Osborne Shipyard office in Adelaide, or Bourke Street office in Melbourne.
We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia such as a 9-day fortnight, flexibility and hybrid working.
Principal Accountabilities
Support the SSPM in the day to day running of the SS project teamWork with the HCFP Managers and Project Managers (PM) to manage and reflect interdependencies across the Program in the SS schedule.As required, support the development and management of Contract Change Proposals (CCPs) and correspondence to the HCFPSupport SS future work and scope development activitiesSupport the SS Scheduler to ensure the SS schedule is accurately maintained and monitor the SS Schedule Health and identify opportunities for improvementLiaise with and support the SS Controller in addressing Earned Value Management (EVM) and schedule performanceOperate as a Cost Account Manager (CAM) for the SS programProvide mentoring and guidance on EVM to the HCFP SS Managers and Project ManagersLead a team of PM's and PM Specialists to support the SS programCoordinate and represent the SS team on risk and opportunity activitiesLead the SS team in continuous improvement initiativesAttend meetings as required representing SS and the SSPM, andRepresent the SS team in Customer-facing engagement for areas of program schedule and integration
Key Criteria
Project Management experience and/or qualificationsCapable of communicating effectively across a diverse range of stakeholders, staff and partners honestly to develop trusted relationshipsAble to think strategically, problem solve and make decisions in a timely mannerAbility to balance conflicting priorities to deliver against customer and business requirements, with appropriate stakeholder managementAbility to articulate strategy/ purpose and link to objectives and project deliverablesAbility to consider projects and make decisions in the context of the broader business strategyCapability to motivate individuals and teams across a number of business areas, to deliver project requirementsHave skill to be able to balance conflicting priorities to deliver against customer and business requirements, with appropriate stakeholder engagementAbility to negotiate with and influence internal and/ or external stakeholders in a way which generates business benefit whilst maintaining key relationshipsPrevious experience working in Defence or the Defence Industry (desirable)Tertiary qualification in relevant business related subject (desirable)Intermediate MS Office skills, especially in Word, Excel and PowerPointEligibility to hold and maintain a Negative Vetting Level 1 Defence security clearanceEligibility to be cleared for International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)
