About the role:
We are helping a leading global law firm with a strong presence in the Asia-Pacific region, find a highly skilled and motivated Construction Litigation Senior Associate to join their team. You will work with an award-winning construction Partner and other senior members of the team, providing expert legal advice and representation in contentious construction matters.
We have met the partner a few times having helped a junior move to the team, and she is highly personable and focused on ensuring her people are happy at work. She is a member of the firm's Diversity Committee and was elected to the firm's Australian Board in 2019.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage and lead complex construction litigation cases, including contract disputes, adjudications, and alternative dispute resolution.
* Draft and negotiate construction contracts and related legal documents.
* Provide strategic legal advice to clients in the construction, engineering, and infrastructure sectors.
* Represent clients in court proceedings, arbitrations, and mediations.
* Collaborate with project teams to ensure legal compliance and risk management.
* Mentor and supervise junior associates and legal staff.
Qualifications:
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction litigation or a related field.
* Strong knowledge of construction law, including the Building and Construction Industry Security of Payment Act 1999 (NSW).
* Proven track record of successfully managing complex litigation cases.
* Excellent drafting, negotiation, and advocacy skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Admission to practice law in Australia.
