About the Role
The Nursing Unit Manager provides leadership and management of staff, services, and resources to ensure delivery of protected, effective and quality nursing. Our nursing team is critical in our vision to build healthier rural people and thriving communities. Our Nursing Unit Managers make sure we deliver on our promise by creating safe, healthy environments that support the work of the health care team and contribute to patient engagement.
You will be managing and supervising staff and clinical nursing practice with a focus on optimal patient outcomes and professional growth for staff. Other duties include case management, treatment planning, recruitment, budgeting, scheduling, mentoring, and developing educational plans.
You'll be a role model to uphold policies and professional standards practices with staff to deliver evidence‐based best‐practice and safe care. You'll also be an advocate for our organisational change processes to continuously improve nursing care delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Qualifications and Skills
Qualified Registered Nurse with relevant nursing experience and a demonstrated ability to lead and manage nursing teams. Required skills include strong organisational and communication abilities, experience in a medical ward setting and knowledge of evidence‐based practice. Additional experience in budgeting, scheduling and staff development is an asset.
