Law360 Australia seeks a General Assignment Reporter to join its fast‐paced newsroom in Sydney or Melbourne (onsite, full‐time).

As part of our global expansion, we are launching a new Australian bureau dedicated to high‐impact coverage of the legal, regulatory, and financial sectors.
About the Role
As a General Assignment Reporter you will deliver timely, accurate and engaging news stories, reporting on developments across a variety of industries and legal practice areas. You will contribute to a leading legal news service and build expertise reporting on issues that matter to lawyers, business leaders and regulators.
Responsibilities
* Report and write daily legal news articles with speed, accuracy and strong news judgment.
* Write clear, compelling and accurate headlines.
* Adhere to Law360's editorial standards and in‐house style guidelines.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with sources.
* Collaborate closely with fellow reporters, editors and regional/global teams to support cohesive coverage.
* Contribute to editorial meetings and support story development and newsroom planning.
* Use approved LexisNexis tools, including AI‐assisted technologies, responsibly within governance frameworks.
* Participate in ongoing training and professional development initiatives.
Requirements
* Proven relevant skills gained through experience (considered).
* Qualifications in journalism/media or related field.
* Exceptional communication skills.
* At least one year of full‐time paid reporting experience.
* Demonstrated reporting and writing skills.
* Research, analytical & database skills.
* Experience reporting for a business or legal audience (preferred).
