The Team
The Medical Unit at Northwest Regional Hospital includes a 27-bed General Medical Ward, a 15-bed Isolation Ward, and an 8-bed Acute Medical Unit (AMU) for short-stay patients.
We provide comprehensive care for patients with complex conditions such as stroke, palliative care, respiratory and cardiac issues, and acute delirium. The Isolation Unit manages transmission-based infections including COVID-19.
Staff rotate through all areas, gaining diverse clinical experience and broadening their professional skills.

The Role:
The Enrolled Nurse contributes to positive health outcomes by delivering safe, quality, and person-centred nursing care under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse, in partnership with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
What We're Looking For
We're seeking Enrolled Nurses with experience in acute medical ward settings, who are confident in applying nursing principles and procedures, and who work effectively within multidisciplinary teams. Ideal candidates will have demonstrated sound communication, organisational and problem-solving skills, and have contributed to quality improvement activities. Familiarity with relevant legislation and a commitment to respectful, person-centred care are essential.

Details of appointment
Permanent, part time, shift worker position, working up to 64 hours per fortnight, commencing from 30 September 2025.

Salary and Benefits
Salary: $70,980 to $78,179 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
* Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
* Post Graduate Allowance of up to 7.5% based on qualification type
