Bayside Health is a public health service delivering high-quality care across every stage of life for close to 1.2 million people living in metropolitan Melbourne, the Mornington Peninsula, Koo Wee Rup, Bass Coast and Southern Gippsland. Bayside Health was formed following the merger of Alfred Health, Bass Coast Health, Gippsland Southern Health Service, Kooweerup Regional Health Service and Peninsula Health on 1 January 2026.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified HMOs who will be post graduate year 3+ (PGY3+) in 2026.

Commencement date will be align with Victorian Clinical Term 2 Date: 4th May 2026

Alfred Health offer extensive training opportunities in General Surgery and Specialty Surgery. We provide PGY3 surgical rotations which are accredited by the Royal Australian College of Surgeons (RACS).

We will assist in tailoring a training and rotational program that meets the specific RACS requirements for entry to the SET program you intend to apply to. All surgical trainees have access to a full range of mandatory and recommended surgery rotations as well as Emergency and ICU. We provide a supportive environment where training and learning is encouraged, and consultant surgeons are available to teach and advise.

Our range of surgical rotations are also ideal for prospective Radiology and Critical Care trainees where a surgical background can be beneficial.
