We’re seeking a skilled Geotechnical Engineer to join our Underground Technical Services team at Northern Star Resources South Kalgoorlie Operations. This role operates on a residential 8/6 roster working 12-hour shifts.

Responsibilities
- Report to the Senior Underground Geotechnical Engineer and be responsible for the safe management and delivery of all Geotechnical requirements within the Geotechnical Engineering team.
- Provide expert geotechnical advice for underground mining areas, ensuring safe and effective ground support systems.
- Initiate and deliver geotechnical improvement projects to enhance mine productivity and profitability.
- Continuously improve geotechnical processes for the Mining Department.
- Collaborate with technical teams to design mine levels and stope extraction plans, including rock stress modelling, closure monitoring and stability analysis.
- Utilise lidar technology to monitor ground conditions and develop effective ground support strategies.
- Oversee QA/QC for ground support installation, underground scaling, rehabilitation plans, and rock bolt testing.
- Maintain daily reporting and compliance tracking for geotechnical activities.
- Review and update the Ground Control Management Plan (GCMP).
- Support the development of geotechnical instrumentation and monitoring systems.
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualifications in Geotechnical Engineering (or equivalent).
- Current "+C" Class Western Australian Driver's Licence (Manual).
- Experience with mine design software - Deswik.
- Experience with seismic monitoring systems - IMS.
- Underground geotechnical experience in a mechanised hard-rock underground mine.
- Flexibility to adapt to improved procedures and practices.
- St John\'s Senior First Aid certificate (desirable).
- Awareness of the Work Health & Safety Act and Regulations (desirable).
