Business Development Specialist / Relationship Manager (Independent Contractor – Fee Sharing, Flexible)

Note: This role is based in Australia and requires the successful applicant to be currently located in Australia with full working rights. Applications from outside Australia will not be considered.


About Us

We are a growing multidisciplinary advisory group providing commercial consulting, legal and accounting services to small to medium sized businesses and start-up/scale-ups. As demand continues to grow, we are expanding our business development and relationship capability and are seeking experienced, commercially minded professionals to join us as independent Business Development Specialists on a project fee-sharing basis.


About the Role

This role is suited to individuals with strong local industry networks and relationship skills who enjoy connecting businesses with the right professional support (without delivering advice themselves).

You will operate as an independent contractor, focusing on originating and supporting client opportunities, while all professional services are delivered by our legal, accounting, and consulting teams.

This is not a sales employee role and not a delivery role. It is a flexible, fee-sharing opportunity for experienced professionals who value autonomy, discretion, and long-term relationship building.


Responsibilities

* Identify and introduce potential clients who may benefit from commercial, legal, or accounting services.
* Make warm introductions and support early-stage relationship development.
* Assist with high-level scoping discussions (non-technical, non-advisory).
* Support proposal development and pre-engagement discussions where appropriate.
* Act as a trusted connector between clients and advisory specialists.


What This Role Is Not

* You will not provide legal, accounting, tax, or financial advice.
* You will not quote fees or negotiate engagements.
* You will not represent yourself as a lawyer, accountant, or adviser.
* You will not be responsible for delivery, compliance, or outcomes.


About You

* 5+ years' experience in relationship management, business development, sales, or commercial roles.
* Backgrounds in industries such as healthcare, logistics, supply chain, professional services, or B2B sales are highly regarded.
* Strong professional network and credibility with business owners or senior decision-makers.
* Commercially astute, ethical, and comfortable operating independently.
* Able to work under a fee-sharing, contractor-based model.
* Former territory managers, senior sales professionals, commercial managers, and relationship leads are strongly encouraged to apply.
