Make-A-Wish creates life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses.
We work with sick kids, their families and medical teams to grant unforgettable wishes like making unicorns fly, sending kids to the moon, and even helping Australia's youngest ever cricket captain don the baggy green.
Overview
The friendly team at the Devonport Branch is looking for an enthusiastic individual to join Make-Wish as the Branch Volunteer Secretary.
By sharing your time and skills, you can help Australian children experiencing life-threatening illnesses.
Responsibilities
Maintain minutes of branch meetings
Prepare meeting agenda
Share meeting minutes
Branch Activities
Raise awareness in local communities
Fundraise and support local families
Attend home visits to capture a sick child's true wish
Help bring the wish to life through all stages of the Wish Journey
Opportunities

Key Requirements
Commitment of at least 12 months as a Branch volunteer to align with the Wish Journey
Comprehensive background check, including interview, reference checks, a Working with Children Check (or equivalent for your State/Territory) and a National Police Check through our preferred provider
Complete online induction training when you become a volunteer
Regular attendance at monthly Branch meetings on a weekday evening once a month
Ability to attend meetings, wishes and fundraising events; must have access to reliable transport
