The Opportunity Consultant Cardiologist – Pacemaker Service (0.1 EFT) St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne (Fitzroy) We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Consultant Cardiologist to join our Pacemaker Service at St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne. Working 0.1 EFT, this position is ideal for a clinician looking to contribute to a high-quality electrophysiology service within a major tertiary and teaching hospital. The role alternates weekly between two core areas: Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory (3.5 hours/fortnight) : Focused on pacemaker implantation and device-related procedures Arrhythmia Clinic (1 session/fortnight) : Involving consultation, diagnosis and management of patients with complex arrhythmias This is a unique opportunity to be part of a respected, multidisciplinary cardiology team known for its commitment to clinical excellence, innovation, and collaborative care. Classifications for this position will range from HN15 - HN55 ( $113.05 - $147.73 per hour) excluding super. Key Responsibilities Perform pacemaker implantation and contribute to a safe and efficient cath lab workflow Diagnose and manage arrhythmias through specialist outpatient consultations Engage in multidisciplinary team discussions to enhance patient outcomes Participate in quality assurance, procedural documentation and departmental meetings Support education and training of junior medical staff and cardiology trainees About You You are a highly competent and collaborative cardiologist with: Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in Cardiology Subspecialty training and experience in pacemaker and device implantation Current AHPRA registration (or eligibility for registration) Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Demonstrated experience working in a tertiary hospital environment (desirable) A patient-first, evidence-based approach to clinical care Why Join Us At St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne, you’ll work alongside some of Australia’s finest clinicians in a supportive, academic environment. Qualifications & Experience • Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in Cardiology. • Subspecialty training and experience in device implantation. • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). • Demonstrated experience in a tertiary hospital setting is desirable. Skills & Attributes • High-level clinical expertise in arrhythmia management and pacing therapies. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Commitment to patient-centred care and clinical excellence. • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team. Additional Information • Participation in departmental meetings, teaching, and quality improvement activities is encouraged. • The position may involve supervision of junior medical staff and cardiology trainees.
