$76,071 – $83,824 per annum + 15.25% super

The City of Launceston is seeking a motivated and technically capable GIS Officer to join our Property and Asset Strategy – GIS Team. GIS is recognised as an essential function that supports service delivery across the organisation through the effective use of geospatial data and tools.

This role is responsible for maintaining and improving assigned spatial datasets, including critical corporate property and addressing data. The GIS Officer works closely with the Spatial Analytics Officer and GIS Administrator to support spatial analysis, mapping products and emerging capabilities such as 3D modelling.

Responsibilities
* Conducting spatial analysis and producing maps and spatial products
* Creating, editing and managing GIS datasets to support organisational needs
* Maintaining core corporate property and cadastral spatial datasets
* Responding to internal customer queries and providing GIS support
* Issuing and maintaining property addressing records and associated data
* Processing Section 337 certificates and associated correspondence
* Supporting and developing 3D modelling and spatial analytics capabilities
* Collecting and verifying data through fieldwork as required
* Delivering training and supporting self‐service access to spatial information
* Supporting emergency management activities when required
About You

You are a collaborative and detail‐focused GIS professional who demonstrates alignment with the City of Launceston's values. You enjoy working with spatial data, supporting customers and contributing to continuous improvement in GIS services.

We are looking for someone who has:

* Demonstrated experience providing geospatial services
* Knowledge and experience using GIS software, preferably ESRI ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online
* Experience with spatial data capture, maintenance and analysis
* An interest or experience in 3D modelling and spatial analytics
* Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
* A commitment to high‐quality customer service and continuous improvement
* Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
* A Diploma in GIS, IT, Cartography or similar, or at least three years' practical GIS experience
* Knowledge of the Tasmanian Land Titles system (desirable)
