We are seeking a flexible and collaborative team player with excellent communication skills to fill the role of Schools Officer – Grounds. This is a Permanent Part-Time position (0.17FTE), 13 hours per fortnight.
The successful applicant will enjoy a supportive team and an attractive location at Dallarnil State School. The role is a progressional position; the applicant will be appointed to the lower classification with eligibility for progression upon meeting specific criteria.
Responsibilities
* Clean and hose drains and gutters; assist with requirements for significant events such as fetes, plays and major sporting events; undertake immediate action cleaning duties outside normal operating hours of the school's cleaning staff.
* Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements including safe storage and handling of chemicals, fertilisers and fuel; bring attention to any safety hazards; manage equipment records; maintain tools and equipment for repair services (as per manufacturers' service manuals).
* Oversee maintenance of school ovals through regular mowing, watering and soil maintenance; perform lawn and garden maintenance including regular weeding and appropriate use of insecticides and fertilisers; plant, water and care for trees, shrubs and gardens; maintain grounds care equipment such as mowers and brush cutters and arrange regular services.
