The Role MCA Ag Group specialises in providing independent whole-farm management and agronomic advice across a diverse cropping region in northern New South Wales and southern Queensland. Established in Goondiwindi in 1988, our client operates a large-scale irrigated and dryland cotton farm spanning 7,000 hectares in the Goondiwindi area. The primary focus of this role is to assist the Regional Farm Manager in the operational management of an aggregation of both irrigated and dryland farms within the region. The property is dedicated to producing irrigated cotton and broadacre crops, encompassing 3,397 hectares of irrigated land and 3,687 hectares of dryland farming. We employ modern John Deere equipment, reflecting our commitment to excellence in this well-established corporate farming enterprise. The team includes an experienced area manager and a stable workforce comprising eight permanent staff members, several of whom have been with the organisation for over ten years. Additional casual staff are recruited as needed based on operational demands. Key responsibilities for this role will include implementing and monitoring daily farm operations, effective staff management, and operating modern irrigated and dryland farming machinery. The successful candidate will also coordinate the movement of contractors on the farm and perform maintenance on farm equipment as necessary. This position will be based on the farm and will require expertise in irrigated cotton and dryland broadacre farming practices and proficiency in operating broadacre and irrigated machinery. It is essential to have a keen attention to detail, along with prior cropping experience, and a thorough understanding and commitment to Workplace Health and Safety regulations.
