Founded in 1989, the Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) Foundation is the fundraising arm of the Royal Children's Hospital, one of the world's leading children's hospitals. The RCH Foundation has the vital role of raising and distributing donated funds to the hospital, enabling the very best patient, family care and support, as well as saving and improving the lives of our sickest children. While a legally separate organisation, the RCH Foundation works closely with the RCH in achieving its vision.
Reporting to the Deputy Director, Fundraising, the Manager, Philanthropy is a key leadership role responsible for driving the success of the Foundation's major gifts program. This role will lead the Major Gifts Team, develop and execute high-impact philanthropy strategies, and cultivate strong relationships with major donors, clinicians and campus partners to deliver transformational fundraising outcomes aligned to the Foundation's 2030 strategy.
The Manager, Philanthropy will play a pivotal role in strengthening campus-wide collaboration across the Royal Children's Hospital, Murdoch Children's Research Institute and the University of Melbourne, while ensuring donor stewardship and engagement is delivered at the highest standard. This role will lead and mentor a small philanthropy team, and support their development, performance and achievement of ambitious revenue targets.
About YOU
* 5+ years' experience in philanthropy, with a proven track record of securing significant gifts
* Demonstrated experience leading and developing a high-performing fundraising team
* Strong strategic capability, with experience designing and delivering major gifts strategies and operational plans
* Exceptional relationship‐building skills, with the ability to engage senior donors, clinicians and executive leaders
* Advanced communication skills, including the ability to develop compelling, tailored donor proposals
* Strong financial acumen, with experience managing budgets, forecasting and KPI reporting
* High attention to detail and excellent organisational and time-management skills
* Advanced CRM capability (Salesforce or similar) and a data-driven approach to donor management
* Purpose-driven and committed to the values of the Foundation: Integrity, Gratitude, Innovation and Excellence
* Experience in health, research or university-based fundraising environments will be highly regarded
