HSV was established on 1 January 2021 as a commercially oriented independent provider of supply chain, procurement and corporate shared services to Victoria's public health sector.
HSV's purpose is to partner with Victoria's public health services and suppliers to support better value for the public health sector and better outcomes for their patients.
Our focus is on the end-to-end supply chain needs of health services, including operating the State Supply Chain, to ensure Victoria's public health services have access to goods that may be in higher demand or difficult to access. Under the Health Services Act 1988 (Vic), we administer compliance‐related functions, and work with health services to assist them in meeting compliance and probity obligations.
About the Role
The Category Manager (within the Clinical Sourcing stream) will be responsible for developing, leading and executing category plans and sourcing strategies to deliver commercial value, supply assurance and procurement excellence across designated categories. Working closely with internal stakeholders, suppliers and health services, you will manage procurement activities from strategy development through to contract implementation and ongoing supplier performance management.
Key Accountabilities Include, but are not limited to:
* Developing and implementing category management plans, sourcing strategies and procurement initiatives.
* Managing end‐to‐end procurement and Invitation to Supply (ITS) processes, including evaluation and negotiation activities.
* Conducting market analysis, supplier assessments and spend analytics to identify opportunities and risks.
* Managing supplier relationships and contract performance to maximise value and service outcomes.
* Supporting stakeholder engagement, governance, compliance and risk management activities.
* Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and procurement best practice across HSV
About You
* Demonstrated experience in category management, strategic sourcing and commercial procurement.
* Strong contract management and supplier relationship management experience.
* Ability to analyse market trends, financial data and procurement opportunities to support decision‐making.
* Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and negotiation skills.
* Relevant tertiary qualifications in procurement, supply chain, commerce, business or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
* Experience within the healthcare sector / public sector will be highly regarded.
* Clinical procurement experience will be highly regarded and preferred.
