Responsibilities
* Process payroll for designated employees.
* Perform programmatic data setup and ensure compliance with all federal and state payroll requirements.
* Support the automated time‑keeping system, including accuracy of employee records, training of employees and supervisors, and testing and validating system upgrades.
* Upload time and leave records.
* Download payroll general ledger files, identify errors, and create necessary journal entries to resolve discrepancies within the general ledger.
Qualifications
* Working knowledge of payroll policies, procedures, and tax regulations.
* Experience in a payroll technician/accountant capacity with defined duties and responsibilities.
* Demonstrated ability to work in an automated time‑keeping system (Kronos Timekeeping System).
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to interpret tax laws and regulations.
* Experience reconciling payroll general ledger accounts and resolving discrepancies.
* Proficiency in creating complex spreadsheets.
* General payroll accounting knowledge and experience.
* Problem‑solving skills related to payroll matters.
* Knowledge of FLSA regulations and laws.
* High level of customer service and communication to internal and external stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
* Associate's degree in Accounting; Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field preferred.
* Preferred knowledge and experience with VRS and health insurance reporting and reconciliation.
