As a Senior Development Planner within Development Services Branch, you will be part of the Ripley Valley Assessment team and central to delivering a new integrated development assessment structure and the establishment of a streamlined "one stop shop" customer model.
Your expertise in delivering high-quality development outcomes, including complex projects, will help drive continual improvements to development services across Ipswich, with a focus on the Ripley Valley Priority Development Area.
Responsibilities
* Project manage all aspects of complex development applications
* Consult and negotiate on development matters of a complex nature with external stakeholders
* Engage with senior leaders and key stakeholders to strengthen development services within the Ripley Valley Priority Development Area
* Provide expert planning advice to other areas of Council's operations
* Establish operational procedures within the Ripley Valley Assessment team
* Mentor other members of the branch in respect of planning issues, principles and practices
Qualifications
* Degree in Town Planning from a recognised tertiary education institution and relevant experience
* Extensive knowledge of relevant Queensland planning legislation
* Extensive experience in exercising judgement and problem‐solving on matters of a complex development nature
* Highly developed interpersonal skills including extensive experience in consulting and negotiating on complex matters
* Extensive project management skills including experience in leading a multi‐disciplinary development assessment team
* High level of commitment and ability in adapting to, and staying current with, changing technology as it relates to the position
