These are two brand new roles in the Engineering Uplift Team!
Location: Melbourne, 2 Days in the officeSalary: Up to $180k + super (depending on experience)Team : Of Four work with - wider team are all ex-REA, Zendesk, SEEK, Redbubble, AWS etcAbout the RoleWe're building a small but impactful Engineering Uplift Team with a transparent mission: to make systems across the Group more reliable, secure, understandable, and cost-effective.
You'll partner with two of our sister companies, working directly with their engineering teams to:Fix legacy systems and reduce technical debtEstablish strong ticket hygiene and incident response processesGuide architecture and cost optimisation (many systems are more expensive than they should be)Lead migration from old-school data centers to cloud-native environmentsThis is not greenfield work.
Think of it as rebuilding Sydney Harbour Bridge while traffic is still crossing it.
It's messy, high-stakes, and rewarding.What You'll Do Get hands-on with legacy platforms:.
NET, C#, Windows stack, databases, APIs, EDI, FTP, transactional systemsTriage problems, prioritise fixes, and make pragmatic trade-offsUplift teams by coaching best practices and setting technical standardsWork across infrastructure, networking, and application layers - full-stack problem solvingRotate between firefighting at one company and consultative coaching at anotherAlways put security and reliability firstAbout You We're looking for someone who thrives on fixing hard problems in complex environments.
