Business Development Manager - National Convention Centre

We're seeking an enthusiastic and results-driven Business Development Manager to join our team at the National Convention Centre Canberra (NCCC) .
In this key role, you'll support the Director of Sales, Marketing and Events in driving business growth through strategic sales, client relationship building, and revenue enhancement in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Core responsibilities include:
1. Managing daily sales activities and nurturing client relationships, with an emphasis on repeat business
2. Achieving individual and team sales targets to maximize profitability
3. Supporting sales initiatives via site inspections, client entertainment, and marketing events
4. Monitoring competitor activity and market trends to keep NCCC competitive
Requirements:
* At least two years' experience in convention sales or within a large MICE hotel environment
* Proven ability to work with international, national, and local clients to promote convention centres and destinations
* Strong knowledge of local business networks and industry trends
* Ability to thrive in a dynamic, matrix organization
* Proactive relationship development with clients and stakeholders, including senior executives
* Flexible and adaptable working style
