The Speech Pathology Department at Townsville University Hospital are seeking an experienced and client focused Speech Pathologist - Senior to join their dynamic team.
This is a temporary full-time role, up to 12 months. Please note - there is a possibility of an additional 6 month extension.
About your opportunity
Deliver high level speech pathology clinical services and leadership in an area of cancer care, medical and rehabilitation, surgical, and/or paediatrics for the Speech Pathology Department and Townsville University Hospital multidisciplinary teams to stakeholders/customers of Queensland Health.
PLEASE NOTE: This is a temporary full-time role, up to 12 months, with a possibility of an additional 6 months extension.
Requirements:
* The successful applicant must hold at least a tertiary degree (or equivalent) qualification in Speech Therapy/Pathology providing eligibility for practicing membership to Speech Pathology Australia.
* Certified Practicing Speech Pathology Status with Speech Pathology Australia is desirable.
* Blue Card Checks: Potential applicants are advised that the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian Act 2000 requires Queensland Health to seek a ‘working with children check' from the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian prior to appointment to this position. 5.1
* Appointment to this position may require participation in the weekend roster.
* This is a VPD risk role. Hepatitis B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Tuberculosis.

* Demonstrated high level clinical skills and knowledge in an area of speech pathology, relevant to a specific clinical area as defined above.
* Demonstrated high level of communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to provide general clinical advice to professional and operational supervisors regarding service delivery and improvement opportunities.
* Demonstrated ability to initiate, plan and evaluate local service improvement initiatives, research projects and implement workload management strategies.
* Demonstrated ability to clinically supervise and provide leadership to staff and students.
