What You'll Be Doing
The Clinical Research Nurse (CRN) provides safe, compassionate, person-centred care to patients and families of Sydney Children's Hospital Network participating in research studies and/or clinical trials. This role will assist with the coordination and implementation of a number of research studies within the Kid's Cancer Centre.
The Clinical Research Nurse will participate in the recruitment of research participants, facilitation of the consent process, administration of clinical interventions required as part of the study, observing and responding to side effects as well as liaising with study sponsors and ensuring the accurate collection and submission of data, in line with the study protocols and research regulations.
The Clinical Research Nurse acts as a role model within the clinical research team by demonstrating behaviour and interacting with patients, their families and employees in a way that promotes a culture and standards that reflect the NSW Health CORE values.
Responsibilities
* Provide safe, compassionate, person-centred care to patients and families participating in research studies and/or clinical trials.
* Coordinate and implement multiple research studies within the Kid's Cancer Centre.
* Assist with recruitment, consent, and administration of study interventions.
* Monitor and respond to adverse events; liaise with study sponsors; ensure accurate data collection and submission per study protocols.
* Model professional behaviour and uphold NSW Health CORE values within the clinical research team.
Qualifications
* Current registration with the National Registration Board (AHPRA).
* Relevant post-registration qualifications and at least 3 years' experience in the relevant clinical area.
* Demonstrated evidence of advanced clinical practice in the specialty area.
* Demonstrated autonomy in decision making and ability to work self-directed and in a multidisciplinary team.
* Advanced leadership skills with the ability to lead and educate nursing staff in reviewing new protocols and identifying nursing requirements.
* Advanced interpersonal and communication skills across the multidisciplinary team.
* Advanced clinical assessment skills across the paediatric age spectrum.
* Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office.
