We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Business Administration Trainee to join our team.
Job Description
This is a 12-month traineeship in Certificate III or IV in Business, depending on prior qualifications. The primary purpose of this position is to provide administrative assistance to the Heads of Secondary and Junior School.
The Business Administration Trainee will have a multi-faceted role that requires administrative skills, as well as the following attributes:
* Ability to move between Reception & Administration to Student Services at any time to ensure the entire area functions well.
* Capacity to manage inquiries from all levels of Campus personnel.
* Flexibility in managing the day-to-day work flow, allowing for frequent interruptions from students, teachers, parents, and other unscheduled tasks.
* Understanding of the emotional nature of students with compassion, insight, and guidance.
The typical responsibilities of this role include:
Administrative Support
* Answering incoming calls in a timely and professional manner.
* Greeting visitors to the school with a welcoming, friendly, and professional manner.
* Providing outstanding customer service to all visitors.
* Assisting with the organization of school events and preparing orders for refreshments.
* SIGNING IN AND OUT OF VISITORS TO THE SCHOOL AND KEEPING UPDATED RECORDS OF SCHOOL ACTIVITIES.
* Assisting the Head of Secondary School with administration tasks.
* Ensuring that all mail coming in and going out of the school is attended to and sent to Australia Post in a timely manner.
Student Services Support
* Acting as the first point of contact for the student and parent body and handling daily enquiries and requests for assistance.
* Assisting to provide first aid assistance to students and ensuring the sick bay is well maintained.
* Liaising with students, handling queries and complaints, and assisting in the direction of students as required.
Qualifications and Attributes
* A valid Working with Children Check.
* A current Driver License.
* A First Aid Certificate.
* Strong IT skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and database management.
* Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
* Experience in initiating, developing and implementing improvements to systems or processes.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Demonstrated experience in business and general office procedures.
* Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships.
