1. About the role
We are seeking a motivated and aspiring individual to join our team as a Cert 3 in Marine Craft Construction Apprentice. This full-time role is based in our Busselton, WA 6280 facility and will provide you with the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience in the manufacturing and repair of marine craft.
What you'll be doing
1. Assist in the construction and repair of various marine craft, including boats, yachts, and other vessels
2. Learn and apply techniques for cutting, shaping, and assembling materials such as wood, fibreglass, and metal
3. Participate in the installation and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
4. Contribute to the planning and execution of projects under the guidance of experienced tradesmen
5. Maintain a safe and organised work environment, adhering to all safety protocols
6. Participate in ongoing training and development to expand your skills and knowledge
What we're looking for
1. Passion for the marine industry and a keen interest in hands-on work
2. Commitment to completing a Cert 3 in Marine Craft Construction apprenticeship
3. Strong problem-solving and practical skills
4. Ability to work effectively in a team and follow instructions
5. Good communication and attention to detail
6. Basic understanding of tools, materials, and construction techniques
7. Australian citizenship or permanent residency with unrestricted work rights in Australia
8. Ability to lift heavy materials, work in various weather conditions, and stand for extended periods
9. Meet Australian apprenticeship eligibility requirements (typically under 21 years of age for new apprentices)
