Your New Role
As an Assistant in Nursing (AIN), you will play a vital role in supporting safe, compassionate, and high-quality patient care across medical and surgical wards at QEII Hospital. Working under the supervision of Registered and Enrolled Nurses, you will contribute to a seamless care experience for patients and families.
* Assist RNs and ENs in delivering direct and indirect person-centred care in line with delegated responsibilities and individual care plans
* Support the day-to-day functioning of the ward, including patient observation, escalation of concerns, equipment checks, and maintenance of a safe environment
* Provide compassionate care that addresses patients' physical, emotional, psychological, social, and spiritual needs
About you:
You are a motivated and caring healthcare professional who values teamwork, safety, and delivering excellent patient outcomes. You thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment and are committed to continuous learning and professional practice.
* Demonstrated ability to provide safe, respectful, and compassionate care under RN/EN supervision
* Strong communication skills with a positive, team-focused approach to patient and ward support
* Willingness to follow established protocols, maintain confidentiality, and use electronic medical records effectively

The Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Hospital (QEII) is a medium metropolitan adult facility providing a range of inpatient and outpatient services including a 24-hour Emergency Department. We provide a range of services, including surgery, cardiology, endoscopy, orthopaedics, gynaecology, urology, geriatric, respiratory and emergency medicine.
We're making our hospital bigger and better to make it easier for our growing community to get the health care they need. We'll have more beds, medical wards and expanded intensive care and emergency services planned to be opened by 2027.
