About the role:
Mitchelton Youth Club is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic person to lead our Kindergym team. Experience and/or technical qualifications in the sport of gymnastics is not essential as we will provide the right candidate with the basic training, they need to be successful. This full-time role is based in Mitchelton, QLD 4053, and will be responsible for leading and developing our smallest athletes in both the Kindergym and some specific Recreation programs with complete autonomy. You'll have the support of a dedicated management team and Board, enabling you to build and shape the program according to your vision.
What you'll be doing:
* Building a legacy by developing an impactful program that champions excellence at all levels.
* Designing and implementing comprehensive training programs for our junior gymnasts.
* Leading and mentoring a dedicated and enthusiastic Kindergym and Recreation coaching team.
* Coaching gymnasts during training sessions and to help them reach their full potential by building a strong foundation as they begin their gymnastics journey.
* Identifying and developing talented gymnasts, providing them with opportunities to progress to higher levels of suitable training.
* Ensuring a safe and engaging training environment, adhering to all safety protocols and guidelines.
* Collaborating with other coaches to share best practices and coordinate team activities.
* Maintaining detailed records of gymnast progress and performance.
What we're looking for:
* A visionary mindset, eager to create lasting change and leave a legacy.
* You will be the 'F' in fun and bring a level of enthusiasm that will only come from your obvious love of your craft.
* Minimum 3 years of experience as a Head Coach or Senior Coach in any discipline is desirable, however not essential because we can teach you the basic gymnastics fundamentals for your specified age group. However, you MUST have a keen interest and enthusiasm for coaching and working with children under school age.
* Excellent coaching (desirable but not essential) and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire gymnasts and coaches of all ages.
* Strong organizational and administrative skills, including the ability to manage a team of coaches.
* Current coaching accreditation and first aid certification, or the desire to gain them whilst guided by us.
* Passion for the sport and a commitment to the development of young athletes.
