What we are looking for
We are seeking an experienced Governance Administration Officer to join Council’s Governance team.
You will bring experience in public sector administration, particularly in areas involving compliance or legislative requirements. The role requires strong administrative and communication skills, along with the ability to work collaboratively and manage a range of diverse and competing priorities effectively.
This is an exciting opportunity to work with an ever-changing dynamic team within the Mid-Western Regional Council.
The salary range being offered for this full‑time position is $2,605.10 - $2,932.30 gross per fortnight plus superannuation which equates to an annual salary of $67,732.60 - $76,239.80 gross plus superannuation (dependent on skills, qualifications and experience).
Key Accountabilities
- Provide administration and project support to the Governance Coordinator including the collaborative development and implementation of administrative processes for governance-related functions.
- Assist the Governance Coordinator with Council’s insurance portfolio, including the review and renewal of Council's insurance policies and management of insurance claims.
- In consultation with the Governance Coordinator, administer Council’s Legislative Compliance & Delegations/Appointments databases and handle staff enquiries in the use of this system.
- Provide administrative support across the organisation to achieve and maintain legislative compliance, as directed by the Coordinator or Manager.
- Support the Governance Coordinator in their role of Right to Information Officer in applying the provisions of the Government Information (Public Access) Act and provide general advice to staff in the handling of information and access requests.
- Administer Council’s policies, procedures, strategies & plans database and provide progress reports to Executive.
- Administer Council registers, including the Administrative Delegations register, documents and website.
- Actively promote and demonstrate the core values and behavioural requirements of the Workplace Environment Statement.
- Undertake any other duties as reasonably directed by the Coordinator or Manager that aligns with the position’s core functions and capacity.
