Emergency Services Officer Job Description
The role of an Emergency Services Officer is a challenging and rewarding position that requires strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. Our team members work together to respond to emergency incidents on site and assist with the day-to-day running of the emergency services and medical team.
Key Responsibilities:
* Equipment Preparedness: Ensure all equipment is in good working condition, perform compliance inspections, and report any issues.
* Site Fitness for Work: Conduct regular checks to ensure all site-based personnel meet the required fitness standards.
* Emergency Drills: Plan, coordinate, and participate in site emergency drills to ensure preparedness.
* Medical Services: Provide medical care and maintain medical facilities in an operationally ready status.
* Physical Fitness: Maintain a level of physical fitness required to perform the job role as dictated by the company.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Certificate III in Mine Emergency Response & Rescue or Certificate III in Public Safety (Fire Fighting and Emergency Operations)
* Cert IV in Health Care as a minimum. (Diploma or Degree would be advantageous)
* Skills in Rope rescue, Road Crash Rescue, Firefighting, Confined Space Rescue, Breathing Apparatus (Open Circuit), Hazmat
* Western Australian HR Driver's Licence
* Certificate IV in WHS and/or Training and Assessment (Desirable)
* Previous experience in emergency response and incident control/incident management
